Greetings and welcome! I am Eternity Philops, a non-binary AfriQueer creative arts and wellness professional of the southeastern USA. The bearer of many titles and talents, I've channeled my passions into becoming a professional solopreneur of numerous soul-driven endeavors. Under the umbrella of Eternity Enterprises, LLC I independently operate: Soul Ink Press (2008), my indie publishing imprint; Soul Art Photography (2009), my portrait photography business; Soul Liberation Wellness (2018), my yoga education company; and Kamili Yoga® (2020), my Africentric yoga system that I developed. Each of these enterprises represent my commitment to work that is centered in creative artistry and wholistic wellness, and centered on marginalized Black, POC, and queer/trans communities.

Host Background & Qualifications

I've always been a caretaker.
More specifically, I've always been a community caretaker.

I grew up the eldest of five siblings, who I helped raise starting when I was just 9-years-old. In university I was a Community Advisor in campus dorms for most of my college years. I double majored in psychology and sociology to learn about how people think and operate, and that knowledge eventually led me to become a wellness professional specializing in peer support, yoga education, and life coaching. I thrive in bringing strangers together to create a new collective; I bask in the joy of watching new relationships take root and flourish over time.

Many people love the idea of being in an active online community, but they often fizzle out without consistent leadership to guide participation. Joining The House of Eternity is to trust that you'll enjoy being in a dynamic and lively space that is maintained with passion and purpose by an enthusiastic and engaged host.

House Agreements

The House Agreements govern all members, and are subject to change and evolve as the community itself changes and evolves. Breaking the agreements can result in being removed and banned from the House.

  • We agree to NOT BE TRASH.

We do not tolerate trans-hate, queerphobia, fatphobia, body shaming, colorism, sexism, gender bias, TERFness, "fauxteps", religious bigotry, cultural prejudice, harassment, inappropriate messages, or any other form of oppression.

Violating this will get you banned quick, so don't phukk around and find out.

  • We agree to BE A SAFE(R) SPACE.

We can't guarantee that feelings won't be hurt, remarks won't be offensive, or that views won't be ignorant. But what we CAN do is promise to do our best to speak and act in humility, compassion, respect, and kindness. A safe(r) space is one where we constantly strive to be better both individually and communally. Misunderstandings and disagreements will happen. What's important is that we navigate conflicts with an energy of non-violence speech and gentle dialogue.

Be slow to anger, quick to apologize, and open to correction. Remember that when you're speaking to someone, you're speaking to a part of your Self, for we are all connected.

  • We agree to BE MATURE ADULTS.

We're not going to like everybody in here. And that's okay. What's NOT okay is being rude and aggressive to folks you're not feeling or have a negative history with. Do what you have to do to protect your peace, but don't be ugly about it.

And if there's someone in the group you have serious concerns about, please DM me (Eternity) and we can discuss it confidentially.

  • We agree to HONOR ALL PRONOUNS.

We must all strive to use the proper pronouns for ALL community members. If you mess up, simply apologize, correct yourself, and do better next time. Also help others use the correct pronouns when necessary.

  • We agree to CHECK OUR PRIVILEGE.

This social group is open to people of any ethnicity, culture, sexuality, gender, etc. But keep in mind that intersectionality exists, and that we each have a multitude of identities and varying layers of privilege. If someone calls you in on something, listen to what they have to say and grow from it.

Don't just treat people how you want to be treated, treat people how THEY want to be treated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can join The House of Eternity?

Membership is exclusively for Black queer folx. Your identity must be confirmed in order to be approved.

To be in alignment with the energy, keep in mind that in addition to being Black and queer, Eternity is spiritual, intellectual, neurodivergent, polyamorous, a creative, an artist, a yogi, a writer, an entrepreneur, an AI enthusiast, a former Christian, an NC southerner, and so on . . . so similarly diverse types of people can be expected. This can give you an idea of the kind of vibe you may experience.

Please note that if "queer" is an offensive term for you, or is not a part of your everyday lived identity, this is NOT the space for you even if you are les/bi/gay or same-gender-loving. "Queer" is the operative word in this house!

Is there an application to join?

Yes! You must answer 5 screening questions to apply for membership. When you get to the questions screen, scroll downward to access all 5 questions. If not, the "submit" button will not highlight until all questions have answers.

You will receive an email once your application is reviewed. If approved, you'll need to confirm your membership, so keep an eye on your emails!

What tech and apps are used for the virtual live gatherings?

We use the following services:

Zoom (free, requires app download)
Free Conference Call (free, requires app download)
VR worlds (Meta Quest 2 or 3 recommended)
- Mighty Networks (it's like Facebook, Discord, and Meetup had a baby)

Most of our gatherings can be attended using a PC, laptop, or mobile device. VR gatherings may sometimes be accessible via a web browser, but this is not guaranteed. Also note that I am not tech support and can't really guide you beyond the basics. So please have a general understanding of how most of these services work, or be ready to teach yourself and learn.

Can I join for free?

There are multiple Pay-What-You-Can monthly dues options ranging from $100 to $15 USD. Higher amounts directly support and subsidize lower amounts! Everyone can choose the preferred amount that works for their income. Please choose the best amount based on what you can comfortably afford long-term.

Wait, why should I have to pay to join?

Because The House of Eternity took time and money to build. Because it costs money to host on this secure platform. Because people give attention to what they pay for. Because charging money keeps away cheap trolls. Because even if this is my joy, this is also my job. Because labor should always be compensated. Because we live in a capitalist world and I have bills to pay. Because I invest time and energy to make the community thrive.

But most importantly, because The House of Eternity is worth your investment.

Can I change my house dues amount?

Certainly! If you ever need to decrease your monthly gift (or hopefully increase it, lol), send me a message and I'll make the transition for you. No one is ever permanently locked in.

I'm not able to join the house, but I'd still like to support you. How can I do that?

First, thank you for still wanting to support me! I don't take it for granted, it truly means a lot.

For a one-time gift, I primarily use CashApp ($EternityPhilops). If you'd like to give more consistently, you can join my Patreon page. The patron amounts start at just $5.00 USD a month, but you can set your own amount to be as much or as little as you like. Plus you get access to Patreon content and project updates!
